This is a 2 weeks adventure Mount Kenya Trekking and Wildlife Safari plus Mombasa Beach Vacation. This is an active tour for the physically fit ready to climb Mt Kenya . We use Sirimon route ahead of a tour to 3 of the leading parks and reserves in Kenya. This are Samburu, Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara game reserve. Afterwards you proceed to Mombasa beach holiday. This is a combination of Mount Kenya climbing, Kenya wildlife safari and Mombasa Beach holiday.

The combination of the two most scenic routes to the peak of Mount Kenya, the Sirimon and Chogoria, offers a unique experience. The trek has a great variety of scenery and becomes through this a spectacular route. Mount Kenya Trekking safari.

The Sirimon route comes from the west of Mount Kenya and passes through the dry side of the mountain. Giant trees and a rocky terrain awaits you here, before you descend onto the Chogoria path. Here you can spot a totally different view with lush bamboo and highland forests.

Itinerary

Day 1
Nairobi/Sirimon/Judmier Camp (Old Moses Camp) 3-4 Hrs, 9km, 860m Ascent

Leave Nairobi at 8 am to Nanyuki town for lunch, taking about 4 hours. Proceed to Sirimon Gate, 1 hr, 2440m. From the gate follow the track as it winds uphill though the forest which becomes heath land after about 3 hrs. About 3½ hours from the gate the track veers right to Judmier Camp, 3300m for dinner and overnight

Day 2
Judmier Camp/Shipton Camp 6-7hrs, 14km, 900m Ascent

After breakfast, follow the track uphill, forking left at the junction. After one hour from Old Moses Camp, the track crosses Ontulili River. Go right contouring through the Moorland and crossing Liki North and continue uphill to Mackinders Valley from where there are panoramic views up the valley towards the main peaks. Dinner and overnight at Shipton Camp, 4200m
Spend the day acclimatizing. Walk to Kami Hut down to Hauseberg Lakes (Hauseberg Tarn and Nanyuki Tarn). Walk back to Shipton for dinner and overnight.

Day 3
Shiptons/Point Lenana/Mount Meru Bandas (Chogoria Gate) 6 hrs, 14km

785m ascent Leave at 3 am up a steep stony quarry that cuts through a cliff clearing visible part towards lower Hall Tarns arriving point Lenana at 6:30 am, taking about 3hrs. After the sunrise, descend down to Mintos hut, 2hrs, for breakfast and further hrs down to Mount Meru Bandas, 2950m, for dinner and overnight

Day 4
Chogoria Bandas/Chogoria – Samburu national Reserve

Descend 2hr, 15km to forest clearance to catch a 4×4 transfer vehicle to Chogoria Village where you will connect with your safari vehicle and proceed to Samburu game reserve. Lunch then proceed for evening game drives. Dinner and overnight stay at Samburu Sopa Lodge

Day 5
Samburu National reserve

Full Day spent exploring the park. Dinner and overnight stay at Samburu Sopa Lodge or samburu lodge

The highlights of Samburu game reserve is the spectacular scenic beauty, rivers and forests. It is an area where the local people have a rich and colorful heritage. The reserves have numerous permanent springs and a wealth of wildlife which includes leopard, hippo, elephant, lion, reticulated giraffe, grevy’s zebra and crocodile in the Ewaso Nyiro River. Over 365 species of birds have been identified in the sanctuaries.

Day 6
Samburu – Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast depart for Lake Nakuru. Arrival will be in time for lunch at your lodge, located inside the Lake Nakuru National Park. In the afternoon you will embark on a game drive where you will have the opportunity to spot leopards, rhino and the famous pink flamingos as well as a variety of other wildlife. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge or Flamingo hill camp. Lake Nakuru’s claim to fame is anchored on its flamingo’s and the over 400 species of birds found here.

The lake itself is a soda lake on the floor of the rift valley. The Lake has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species- particularly the Rothschild Giraffe and the black and white rhino. Lions, water buck, buffalo, and baboons are all residents here.

Day 7
Lake Nakuru- Masai Mara National reserve

After breakfast departs for Maasai Mara – the land of vast migrating animals. Arrival will be in time for lunch. After lunch embarks on a game drive. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge / Sentrim lodge

Day 8
Masai Mara National reserve

Full day in Masai Mara with early morning and evening game drive. you will explore one of the most famous and beautiful National Parks in the world, you will have the opportunity to spot the Big Five with their associated predators which include the Buffalo, Rhino, Hippopotamus, Oribi,Warthogs, Thompson’s Gazelles, Zebra, Hartebeest among many others. All meals and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge / sentrim lodge

The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephant.

It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena, and vultures.

Day 9

Full Day game drive in Masai Mara searching for animals that you did not get the other day. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 10
Maasai Mara -Nairobi –Mombasa

After a leisurely breakfast, then drive to Nairobi – lunch at the Carnivore restaurant then drop off at the airport to board your flight to Mombasa on arrival, our representative will meet you and transfer you to Severin Sea Lodge or similar to start you beach vacation
