Your Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Nairobi and overnight

Arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta Airport, Nairobi and are transferred to the Ibis Styles Hotels, Westlands Nairobi with overnight. Bed and breakfast

Day 2: Nairobi to Sirimon Gate to Old Moses Camp

Breakfast at the Ibis Styles Hotels, Weslands, Nairobi. You link up with your Mount Kenya Guide and take the 4 hours drive to Nanyuki Town to meet the rest of the Trekking Crews and drive to the Sirimon Gate of the Mount Kenya National Park.

Commence your trekking and take your packed lunches. The trekking today takes 4 hours. You will pass through a beautiful forest with East African Pencil Cedar trees, Poducarpus trees and the giant Hygenia trees. Trek on to the Old Moses Camp. Dinner and overnight at the Camp. Full board

Day 3: Old Moses Camp to the Shiptons Camp

Breakfast. Take the 6 – 8-hour hike crossing different valleys, there is a great view of Terere and Sendeyo Peaks. And also a great view of Nanyuki town and beautiful terrain. Dinner and overnight at Shiptons Camp. Full board

Day 4: Shiptons Camp to Point Lenana and then descend to the Meru Bandas Camp

Take the mid-night Trek to Point Lenana; the third highest Peak on Mount Kenya. You arrive at the Peak around 6 Am and take photos of the surrounding spectacular landscapes. Commence the descent to the Mintos Camp for Breakfast. Continue to the Meru Mount Kenya Bandas Camp. Dinner and overnight at the Camp. Full board

Day 5: Meru Bandas to Chogoria gate and onto Nairobi

Breakfast at the Meru Mount Kenya Bandas Camp. Take the trek through a thick bamboo forest and tropical rain forest. The forest is really beautiful with chances of seeing wildlife and Columbus monkeys. Transfer to Nairobi. On arrival overnight at the Ibis Styles Hotels, Westlands, Nairobi. Half board.

Day 6: Nairobi to Arusha

Breakfast at the Ibis Styles Hotels, Westland, Nairobi. Soon thereafter take the Shuttle Bus ride to Arusha City in Tanzania to arrive in the afternoon. On arrival, you are transferred to The African Tulip Hotel, Arusha. Check in at the Hotel. Overnight at The African Tulip Hotel, Arusha. Bed and breakfast

Day 7: Arusha to Mariakamba Hut

Breakfast at The African Tulip Hotel, Arusha. You are picked up and transferred to the Arusha National Park to commence your Mount Meru Trek. Walk with a Park Ranger through a game filled parkland up to The Miriakamba Hut. Overnight at the Hut. Full board

Day 8: Mariakamba to Saddle Hut

Breakfast at the Mariakamba Hut. Depart for the Saddle Hut. You will have passed through the Forest. Overnight at the Saddle Hut. Full board

Day 9: Saddle Hut – Mount Meru Summit-Momella -Moshi Town

Wake up at midnight, and after a snack, proceed to the Summit of Mount Meru through the viewpoint of the Crater Rim. Take some nice photographs. Descend to the Momella Gate and are transferred to the Moshi Town. On arrival, check in at the Dual Mountain Lodge, Moshi. Overnight at the Lodge. Half board

Day 10: Moshi- Machame Gate – Machame Camp
Hiking time: 7 hours
Distance: About 18 km’s
Habitat: Montane forest
Breakfast at Dual Mountain Lodge. You are picked up and transferred to the Kilimanjaro National Park gate at Machame. From here, you trek through the lush forest to Machame Camp. Overnight stay at the Machame Camp. Full board

Day 11: Machame Camp – Shira Camp
Hiking time: 6 hours
Distance: About 9 km’s
Habita: Moorland
Breakfast. Trek on. Leave the forest. The path follows a steep ridge passing through open moorlands crossing a large gorge to reach Shira Camp. Overnight stay at the Shira Camp. Full board

Day 12: Shira Camp-Lava Tower -Barranco Camp

Hiking time: 7 hours
Distance: About 15 km’s
Habitat: Semi desert
You turn Eastwards and continue ascending through the dry landscape before dropping again to reach Barranco Camp. Overnight stay at the Barranco Camp. Full board

Day 13: Barranco – Karanga Camp

Breakfast. Continue to a steep ridge on the Barranco Wall and you climb it to reach the top just below the fascinating views of the Heim’s Glacier. Proceed with the trek as the trail gets gradual with gently ups and downs before descending to the Karanga Valley. Overnight at the Karanga Camp (4,035 metres). Full board

Day 14: Karanga Camp – Barafu Camp
Hiking time: 7 hours
Distance: About 13 km’s
Habitat: Alpine desert
The path climbs steep out of the Barranco valley and crosses the Karanga valley, then turns North to reach Barafu Hut. Overnight stay at the Barafu Camp.

Day 15: Barafu Camp (4550 m)- Uhuru Peak (5895m)- Mweka Camp (3100m)
Hiking time: 8 hours to reach Uhuru Peak
7/8 hours to descend to Mweka
Distance: About 7 km’s ascent – 23 km’s descent
Habitat: Stone scree and ice-capped summit

Along day with an early start to reach the crater, ream at the Stella point in time for sunrise, then to Uhuru peak, the highest point in Africa. After wards, descend to Gilman’s point and down to Mweka Camp for overnight. Full board

Day 16: Mweka Camp- Mweka Gate- Moshi

Breakfast. Take the descent and trek on passing Mweka Gate and Mweka Village and are transferred to the Dual Mountain Lodge, Moshi for overnight. Half board

Day 17: Moshi to Kilimanjaro Airport and Depart

Breakfast at the Dual Mountain Lodge. In good time you are picked up and transferred to the Kilimanjaro Airport to take your ongoing flight. Breakfast
