CONQUER MT. KENYA VIA SIRIMON
Day 1: Nairobi to Old Moses Camp (3,300m)
Driving Time: 4hours Hiking Duration: 3-4 hrs
Distance: 9km Ascent: 860m
Leave Nairobi early at 0600hrs and drive north past central highlands to the Mt. Kenya Sirimon gate. At the gate, we will go through the park check-in process as you prepare your bags and enjoy a picnic lunch. The walk starts at the Sirimon gate following the road up the tropical rain forest to the heather region. Our first camp for the night is at Old Moses camp. The shining lights of Nanyuki town are beautiful on a clear night from this camp.

Day 2: Old Moses Camp to Shipton Camp(4,200m)

After breakfast, we set off at 0800hrs following the narrow track towards the new weather station. After the weather station, the route forks right leaving the Likii North route to cross a series of valleys to Mackinder Valley. From here the peaks are clear all the way to the camp for the night.

Day 3: Shipton Camp to Point Lenana (4,895m) to Old Moses Camp) to Nairobi
Hiking Duration: 9hrs Distance: 21km
Rise early for tea and light snacks at 0300hrs. Commence the steep climb via the ridge between the peaks towards Hall Tarn. Arrive at Lenana peak at 0630hrs in time for sunrise. After the sunrise, descend down to Shipton Camp for breakfast before proceeding down to Old Moses Camp where you will be picked by the driver to Nairobi.
PHYSICAL FITNESS
Due to the nature of the exercise, you need to prepare your body well. It is recommended you do daily cardio-based exercises before the hike. We have prep hikes organized every weekend & private on weekdays for your support and it would be great to attend them.
FOOD & SNACKS
Meals will be provided, as well as basic snacks like cookies, biscuits, and fruits. You should also bring your own energy snacks for the duration of the hike. Based on your preference, you can consider nuts, candy, energy bars, soda/beverage, Energy Sachets, Apples, and fruits. Main meals are prepared and served at camp. They include common starch, vegetables, soup, and meat. Any special dietary requirements such as diabetic, vegetarian, lactose intolerant, non-beef must be communicated in advance.
